Forward deployed engineering means working with the people who run the process, observing the current tools, and testing early in the environment where the system will be used.
The work covers technology, rules, data, exceptions, and responsibility. The engineer who designs the solution therefore joins the working sessions and follows it into production.
FunnySoft keeps a small structure. One lead engineer owns each project, and the scope reflects the available capacity.
Who is behind it
João Paulo Santos
Founder and lead engineer
Software engineer with more than 7 years in the Laravel ecosystem, now focused on AI systems in production. He is the AI Lead of Voltimum's AI platform, live in 16 European markets, where he builds multi-agent assistants over real data. He previously worked at Patchstack (WordPress security, vulnerability database) and built management systems from scratch for industry in the Leiria region.
